The Indonesian government has implemented the concept of sustainable development since the mid-term national development plan (RPJMN 2015–2019) with one of the policies related to natural resources and the environment is green economy, namely improving the management and utilization of natural resources sustainable by balancing between utilization and sustainability.
Aspect environment has become one of the emphasis in the concept of development sustainable development in Indonesia, and to achieve these development goals it is necessary monitoring of the use and management of the environment is carried out. Even until now the concept of sustainable development is still used in the RPJMN 2020-2024.
Environmental monitoring carried out by environmental managers life requires information about the environment. This information is for taking pictures of environmental conditions at a time, both the level of damage that occurred, improvements that have been made, as well as steps that need to be prepared as input material for environmental planning in the future. Makers policy needs to include environmental factors in all considerations of its activities, so that information about the environment is accurate, complete, timely, and sustainability is urgently needed.
To get a clear picture of the problems that occur in the environment, it is necessary to develop indicators that can measure quality environment. Statistics as a tool that is often used to see phenomena and environmental behavior need to be continuously prepared and developed with reliable methodology.
